Industrial Screw Conveyor is a mechanical device used to transport bulk materials. It is widely used in agriculture, chemical industry, food processing, construction and other industries. It is mainly composed of spiral blades, drive device, housing, feed port, discharge port, etc. The working principle is that the spiral blades are driven by the motor to rotate, and the materials move along the conveying channel under the push of the spiral blades to achieve horizontal, inclined or vertical conveying of materials. Spiral blades are usually made of carbon steel, stainless steel and other materials to meet the conveying needs of different materials.

Screw Conveyor Working Principle

 

When the material is placed in the fixed trough, due to the friction between the material's own weight and the trough, it will accumulate on the machine trough, and the material will move forward under the push of the rotating spiral blades, thereby realizing horizontal conveying.

Wide range of conveying capacity
Industrial Screw Conveyor has a rich range of model configurations, with 12 standard specifications from LS100 to LS1250, screw diameters ranging from 100mm to 1250mm, and theoretical conveying capacity ranging from 1.9 m³/h to 333.1 m³/h, which can adapt to materials of different densities (filling coefficient φ=0.15~0.45) and production line beat requirements. By changing the pitch and speed (ranging from 16–90 r/min), the conveying speed and processing volume can be flexibly adjusted to effectively meet the scene requirements from small batch packaging to large-flow continuous production, and adapt to medium and short-distance high-frequency conveying tasks in industries such as building materials, chemicals, and grain.

 

Enclosed structure design
The equipment adopts a fully enclosed machine trough, and the screw body and materials are completely covered by the shell, which can effectively avoid dust leakage and secondary pollution during the conveying process. Compared with traditional open conveying equipment, this design can reduce the dust emission rate by more than 80% when handling dry powder, ash and other dust-prone materials. At the same time, the screw conveyor belongs to a forced propulsion structure. The main resistance of the equipment operation comes from the friction between the material and the groove wall, and the energy consumption is concentrated on overcoming this friction. The optimized speed matching and pitch design reduce the no-load energy loss, and the overall energy consumption is 10%-15% lower than that of belt conveying equipment, with a higher energy efficiency ratio.

 

Stable structure
This series of equipment consists of head and tail bearings, hanging bearings, screw shafts, and drive devices. The structure is rigid and has good running coaxiality. The middle uses hanging bearings for interval support, which is suitable for a maximum conveying distance of 100 meters to prevent bending deformation due to excessive length of the blade shaft. All types of spiral blades are precisely welded to the main shaft, and the linear thrust output is maintained under different working conditions during operation, ensuring that the material flow rate is stable during continuous operation, without jamming or accumulation. The drive device uses a power-adapted motor with low speed and high torque output, which is suitable for high-frequency and long-term operating conditions, such as building materials lines, chemical continuous production lines, etc.

 

Multi-point material distribution design
Industrial Screw Conveyor supports single-point or multi-point feeding and discharging configurations. By controlling multiple discharge ports to open synchronously or in batches, the functions of segmented discharge and quantitative feeding can be realized, which can meet the process requirements of automatic batching, material binning, dynamic diversion, etc. It is particularly suitable for process flows that require simultaneous feeding or proportioning to multiple locations. For example, by setting three equidistant discharge ports on the LS315 (transport capacity 33.1 m³/h, φ=0.45), a stable diversion feeding of about 11 m³/h per port can be achieved, which helps to improve the overall system beat coordination and material distribution balance.
