Products Description
The drum flaker for sulfur is a continuous piece of equipment specifically designed and manufactured for the cooling, crystallization, and slicing of sulfur. The sulfur drum flaker can continuously and uniformly cool and solidify molten sulfur at 120–143 ℃ into sheet-like products with a thickness of 0.5–1.0 mm and a size of 20 mm × 20 mm. The discharge temperature is ≤45 ℃, and the sheets do not stick together or break, meeting the requirements for subsequent packaging and transportation.

What are sulfur flakes?
Sulfur flakes are a thin, flaky substance made primarily of natural sulfur through a special process. They have a uniform texture, are typically yellow or pale yellow in color, and possess good stability and are easy to store. Sulfur, as an important chemical raw material, has been widely used in human life and industrial production since ancient times, and sulfur flakes are one of the important forms of sulfur application.
What are the uses of sulfur flakes?
Sulfur flakes have a wide range of applications and positive uses. Firstly, in agriculture, sulfur flakes are used as highly effective agricultural fungicides and soil conditioners, helping crops control diseases, promoting healthy root growth, increasing crop yield and quality, and driving the green development of modern agriculture. Secondly, in environmental protection, sulfur flakes are used in water treatment and waste gas purification, helping to remove harmful substances and promoting the continuous improvement of the ecological environment. Thirdly, sulfur also plays an important role in the pharmaceutical field. Due to its natural components, sulfur flakes are used to manufacture topical medications to help alleviate skin problems and promote a healthy lifestyle.
How Does Sulfur Drum Flaker Work
1. Molten sulfur is conveyed through insulated pipes to the feeding device at the top of the equipment (either top feeding or bottom immersion feeding methods are available).
2. The drum (made of 304 stainless steel, drum surface thickness 10 mm) is partially immersed in the feeding trough or evenly coated with sulfur by a distributor; 32℃ circulating cooling water (pressure 0.5 MPa) is circulated inside the drum, forming a thin layer of sulfur liquid film on the drum wall surface.
3. As the drum rotates at a uniform speed (frequency conversion speed regulation 2–10 r/min), the liquid film completes the entire process of film formation, cooling, crystallization, and solidification within one rotation cycle on the drum surface.
4. The solidified sulfur flakes are continuously peeled off by an adjustable scraper device (blade material can be brass, phosphor bronze, alloy steel, etc.) and conveyed out via a bottom discharge screw or chain conveyor, achieving uninterrupted production.

Sulfur Drum Flaker Features
* Continuous and High-Efficiency: Single unit capacity can reach 0.5–1.2 t/h (depending on material temperature and cooling water volume), increasing output by 30–100% compared to traditional intermittent cooling tanks.
* Superior Flakes Quality: Uniform drum surface temperature, consistent sheet thickness, high yield, and low dust.
* Multi-functional Material Distribution: Top-feed is suitable for low-viscosity sulfur; bottom-immersion is suitable for high-viscosity or impurity-containing materials; automatic reflux control of the tank level prevents material leakage.
* Energy Saving and Consumption Reduction: Internal spiral multi-channel cooling structure with pressurized reflux of cooling medium improves heat exchange efficiency by over 15% and reduces circulating water consumption by 20%.
* Safety and Environmental Protection: Fully enclosed casing and air inlet effectively collect sulfur odor; optional nitrogen protection prevents sulfur dust explosions and oxidation.
* Convenient Maintenance: Removable scraper with adjustable gap online; side scrapers at both ends of the drum eliminate end-piece material accumulation, reducing friction and power consumption; large inspection door facilitates cleaning.
Applications of Drum Flaker For Sulfur
* Sulfur Chemical Industry: Cooling and flake formation of sulfur byproducts from petroleum refining, natural gas purification, coking plants, and fertilizer plants.
* Coal Chemical Industry: Sulfur flakes produced as a byproduct of coal gasification and coal tar hydrogenation processes.
* Environmental Protection Equipment: Sulfur flakes for Claus sulfur recovery, biological desulfurization, and acid water stripping units.
* Special Needs: Expandable for closed-loop cooling flakes of easily oxidized and hygroscopic materials (requires nitrogen protection or vacuum configuration).
