Drum flaker machine is a continuous equipment used to cool and solidify molten or high-temperature liquid materials through the surface of a rotating cooling drum to form thin flake solids. The equipment is mainly composed of a rotating cooling drum, a feeding system, a cooling circulation system and a scraping device. The material is evenly coated on the drum surface. As the drum rotates, the internal cooling medium takes away the heat, achieving rapid cooling and solidification of the material, and finally the solidified flakes are peeled off from the drum surface by a scraper. This equipment is suitable for continuous production processes in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industries.

Drum Flaker Machine Working Principle

 

When the material is fed onto the drum surface, the heat from the drum causes it to melt or soften. As the drum continues to rotate, the material solidifies or cools down, forming a thin sheet or flake. The drum flaker machine can be adjusted to control the thickness of the flakes produced, making them suitable for applications in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

* High-precision Drum Design
Drum flaker machine uses high-precision machined drums with a surface roughness of Ra0.8, drum eccentricity controlled within 0.1mm, and shaft head inner ring concentricity of 0.05mm. This design ensures the smooth operation of the drum and uniform heat transfer, reducing material agglomeration and uneven flake formation. According to customer needs, hard chrome plating can be performed to further improve the wear resistance and service life of the drum.

 

* Advanced Sealing and Transmission System
The equipment cooling medium inlet and outlet adopts rotary joints and mechanical sealing technology, with automatic center adjustment and compensation functions, low friction coefficient, reduced leakage and bubble generation, and ensure the airtightness of the cooling system and the safety of the working environment. The transmission part adopts planetary gear reducer and explosion-proof motor to achieve full torque output and smooth operation with low noise. The variable frequency speed regulation system supports stepless speed regulation in the range of 2-12 rpm to meet the crystallization speed and thickness requirements of different materials.

 

* Flexible Adjustment Structure
The equipment is equipped with a roller spacing adjustment device, a fixed scraper and an adjusting roller. The gap between the scraper and the roller is finely adjusted by the screw to achieve precise control of the sheet thickness of 1-2mm. The adjusting roller has a built-in steam heating function to ensure that the scraped material is partially melted and refluxed, improving material utilization and reducing waste. Combined with a motor power of 3 to 18.5kW and a production capacity range of 50 to 10000kg/h, it can adapt to materials of different viscosities and adhesions.

 

Perfect Auxiliary System
The equipment adopts a feed trough structure with an automatic liquid level reflux device to maintain a stable liquid level in the trough and prevent excessive material from entering the roller area and affecting the quality of the sheet. The scraper material is diverse, including epoxy resin, phosphor bronze, stainless steel, etc., which can be selected according to the properties of the material. Equipped with a variable frequency electric control box, optional explosion-proof configuration, display of temperature, electric frequency and other parameters, convenient for on-site real-time monitoring and adjustment.
